Ground Chicken Matar Masala / Chicken Keema



Preparation Time - 5mins              Cooking Time - 20 to 30 mins       Serves - 4

Ingredients
  • Ground chicken or keema - 250 gm
  • Onion - 1 (finely chopped)
  • Tomato - 2 
  • Green chili - 2
  • Green peas / Matar - 1/4 cup
  • Ginger garlic paste - 2 tbsp
  • Lemon - 1 tbsp
  • Chilli powder - 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tbsp
  • Pepper - 1/4 tbsp
  • Garam masala - 1 tbsp
  • Salt
  • Coriander - For garnish
  • Oil
Spices for Tempering
  • Bay leaf - 1
  • Cumin - 1 tbsp
  • Cinnamon - 1 small stick
  • Cardamom - 2
  • Cloves - 2
Procedure
  • In a pan add oil and spices,fry spices till they sizzle.
  • After spices sizzle add onions,green chilli and ginger garlic paste.
  • After onions turn translucent add tomato,peas and fry until tomato turns soft.
  • Now add turmeric,chilli,salt,garam masala and cook them until raw smell goes off.
  • Add kheema/chicken to this mixture and cook them on a low flame.
  • On a low flame cover and cook till the chicken is soft approximately around 20mins.Sprinkle little water if needed.
  • Add coriander leaves and lemon just before you turnoff the stove. 
  • Ground chicken matar masala is ready to serve.
