paal sorakkai/Latte Bottlegourd



Hi friends today our main hero of our dishes is bottlegourd. It is commonly available in our supermarkets and ya easy on pocket too. This recipe has been passed on to me from my mom. Its nutritive value and taste has to be savored to feel it.
The quantity of milk to be added is the key in preparing latte bottlegourd. There are various other ways to prepare this dish but I am going to explain you the easiest and best preparation method.
This recipe has very few ingredients and the main ingredient which goes in it is milk.

Paal Sorakkay/Latte Bottlegourd

Ingredients
  • Bottle gourd - 1 
  • Milk- 1cup
  • Salt
For Tempering
  • Redchilli-2 to 3
  • Mustard seeds-1/2tbps
  • Urad dal-1/2tbps
  • Jeera-1/2tbps
  • Asafoetida -pinch
  • Curry leaves-10 to 12 leaves
  • Oil or Ghee 
Procedure
  • Peel and chop the bootlegourd into cubes.
  • In a bowl add 1/2cup of water,salt,bottlegourd and boil them for around 10 to 15mins.
  • Grind this cooked bottlegourd in a fine paste and add milk to it.
  • In a kadai add oil and  tempering ingredients,to this add the grinded paste.
  • Paal sorakkai is ready to serve,tastes good with rice.
